About Mike: I’ve been DJing and emceeing professionally for 15 years and although I’ve played a musical instrument my entire life, whether it be piano, guitar, saxophone or drums, the turntables really held my attention. I became interested in writing lyrics and music in high school, which quickly transitioned into music production, scratching and mixing songs.
Soon after I began performing in a live band and DJing short sets between the various musical acts. This led me to booking events as a solo DJ and ultimately getting into after parties, bars, clubs, private parties, festivals and finally weddings. I have now personally DJ’d nearly 300 weddings in the 5 years of Dancin’ Shoes. While embarking on my DJ career, I finished my bachelor’s degree at UNC Chapel Hill with a Mass Communications degree specializing in audio design.
I moved back to my hometown of Denver in August, 2007. Since then I have been performing live as a DJ and working hard as an audio engineer for nearly a decade at CCM Recording Studios. I have worked with both national and local acts in many styles of music, voice over, music production and audio sweetening.
I produce music with my brother, Zach, in the group, FOTOGRAFFIK. I was also a founding member of the indie-electro-hip-hop band, Broken Tongues.
I worked as a free-lance, “live” audio engineer at Lannie’s Clocktower, as well as the Littleton Arts and Music Festival, among others.
Notable Performances: Global Dance 2011, Digable Planets, Empire of the Sun, Inner Party System, Kid Cudi, Big Gigantic, The Motet, Paper Diamond, Chali 2na, DJ Abilities, Zion-I, Nappy Roots and Wailing Souls at places including Red Rocks, The Pepsi Center, Civic Center Park, Cervantes, City Hall, The Gothic Theatre, The Aggie and more.
I’ve DJ’d private events for companies including Burton, UFC, Dub Magazine, DGK, G.J. Gardner Homes, Water For People, Colorado Restaurant Association and more.
I take a lot of pride in my work and my company, always bringing a fresh yet experienced perspective to each and every event I have the pleasure being a part of.

About Vance: Born and raised in Detroit, I was immersed in good music. My mother had a love for R&B and funk and was always dancing in our home. At the age of 5 she began to teach my brother and I the joy of music and how to ‘get down’ on the dance floor. I grew up with the sounds of The Temptations, Rick James and Earth Wind and Fire and found a love for music and dance that has stayed with me to this day.
In my teens, I began hosting parties and dance contests and began my career as an emcee/DJ. After leading a band for a number of years, I decided to change things up and moved to Denver. Since then I have produced a number of original scores for local dance companies and DJ’d a whole lot of weddings, corporate events and birthday parties. I love being a part of someone’s special day and sharing in the joy and celebration. I specialize in custom fitting my set to the needs of the guests and ensuring that everyone there has a great time.

About Mike: I have had a passion for music for as long as I can remember. I started my musical career over 15 years ago as a pianist and drummer. I was introduced to DJing while attending college for business in Colorado Springs and have been hooked ever since. I started performing as DJ Ignight in 2010 at various events and nightclubs. I formed Ignight Entertainment in 2012 and have since played weddings, schools, cruises and some of the top nightclubs in Denver!
I started DJ’ing, engineering and producing in order to fuel my passion for music and to bring my energy to my community. Since then, I have worked with hundreds of fantastic clients from all over our beautiful state. I have also been lucky enough to take my mixing to Miami, Kansas, Texas and other parts of the country.
The weddings and events that I play are as unique, memorable and fun as the people who book with me. The musical selection on your big night will reflect this! As a dedicated musician and experienced disc jockey, I know how important it is to hear the right song at the right moment. It can make or break your mood, as well as your event! I work closely with my clients to design a custom playlist that reflects them, their guests, and the atmosphere that they want.
